GlobalSign SSL Encryption Issue

SISRA Analytics and SISRA Observe both use Globalsign Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption. Globalsign have recently experienced problems with certificate authentication which has resulted in issues accessing any websites that use their certificates.

They have since fixed the problem but we are aware that some users are still having difficulty accessing our services, however any remaining issues are being caused by CRL caching on the local machine and clearing the cache will fix the issue.

To clear the CRL Cache, in Windows:

  • Go to Start Menu > Run
  • Type cmd and press Enter
  • Enter the following commands and press Enter
  • certutil -urlcache crl delete

To clear the CRL Cache, in Mac OS:

  • Enter the following command:
  • sudo rm /var/db/crls/*cache.db

You may need to speak with your local IT department if you do not have permission to run the above command(s).
