Observe User Seminar

SISRA Observe User Seminar

Join us for a working lunch followed by an afternoon of interesting talks, discussion and ideas.

Our half-day seminars offer you a chance to hear a fantastic range of speakers, chat one-on-one with the SISRA team and take some time after a very busy exams season to simply listen, away from the distractions of the school day. There will be time to network with like-minded professionals and we will facilitate discussion throughout the day.

Speakers include Dr Rachel Lofthouse, Professor of Teacher Education and founder of CollectivEd, and Jonny Uttley, CEO of the The Education Alliance Trust.

These events are ideal for staff responsible for teaching and learning, professional development, CPD or raising standards. If you’re unsure whether or not it would be suitable please contact us via email at events@sisra.com or call the office on +44151 650 6995 to discuss with one of the team.

The price of the seminar is £49 per person, excluding VAT. This includes a working lunch and refreshments.

Roadshows

Our roadshows are a great way to find out more about SISRA Analytics and Observe. Held at SISRA schools up and down the country, our roadshows allow you to see our systems in action and discuss how they would work in your setting.

Roadshows are presented by one of our consultants, alongside a member of staff from the host school. Typically experienced educationalists, all have a working knowledge of SISRA Analytics or SISRA Observe. In addition, they also have an understanding of the challenges faced today by staff dealing with data requirements for tracking performance, forecasting achievement, and school improvement. Therefore, they are well qualified to answer any questions you may have.

Roadshow demonstrations usually take around an hour, including a question and answer session.

DataMeets

DataMeets are free regional events organised by SISRA. The aim is to provide data managers, exams officers and other support staff (as well as staff with responsibility for administering SISRA Analytics) with the opportunity to get together on a termly basis to discuss important changes, to network and to seek advice.

DataMeets are usually hosted in SISRA schools all over the country, but this term our DataMeets are all online. The meetings are chaired by a member of the SISRA consultancy team, however we keep the agendas as general as possible.

During the meetings we discuss a variety of topics and all attendees have the opportunity to add to the agenda in advance. Here are some examples of previous agenda items:

  • SIMS, Progresso, Bromcom and other MIS
  • DfE Policy and Statement of Intent changes/updates
  • School census
  • Exams and results analysis
  • Target setting
  • Training teachers in the use of data
  • Best CPD and courses
  • Interventions and pupil tracking/monitoring
  • Anything of interest from attendees

Meetings normally last around 1.5 hours. Places are limited to a maximum of 3 attendees per school and are open to SISRA Analytics customers only. If, when trying to book, you find that this meeting is at full capacity, please email us at datameet@sisra.com with your job title, school name and the name of the DataMeet that you wish to attend. We will add your name to the reserve list and get in touch if a place becomes available.

Life at SISRA HQ with Nathan, Senior Support

Our support team answer your queries on a daily basis, so we thought you might be interested to hear what they have to say about life at SISRA HQ! Our third Q&A session is with Nathan Coyle, Senior Support.

Q: What were you doing before you joined SISRA?

A: I moved from Ireland to Liverpool in 2011 to study. After finishing my degree in Business Management, I worked full-time in Marks & Spencer in Liverpool for a few years, in the food hall – discount on that was a great perk! I’ve now been at SISRA for two and a half years.

Q: What’s your favourite thing about your job?

A: The staff here at SISRA who made it really easy to settle in. In terms of the role, we speak to lots of different people on live chat so I really enjoy the opportunity to get out and meet you all at our training days, DataMeets and other events.

Q: Any memorable moments from working on the support team you’d like to share?

A: There isn’t one that stands out in particular, but we do often get some funny comments on chat that keep us entertained. We gave ourselves festive names over the Christmas period and that seemed to encourage a few amusing comments that got a good laugh from the support team.

Q: What is the greatest challenge the support team face on a day-to-day basis?

A: Probably balancing the workload. We’re quite a small team, and chats can often take up the majority of the day, so updating guides, creating videos and other tasks can often be tough to get through. Always plenty to do!

Q: Tell us a fun fact about yourself

A: My brother (who is 4 years older than me) refused to call me Nathan after I was born and called me Gary instead. He even told all of his school teachers he had a new brother called Gary! This continued for months until he was bought two goldfish, one of which he could name Gary (the other was named Paul).
